Wild Korea

WACKY WAVING INFLATABLE ARM FLAILING TUBE MAN! WACKY WAVING INFLATABLE ARM FLAILING TUBE MAN! You can do so many things with a wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube man- testify in church! Foreigner in Korea? Hail a cab! Or just raise the roof. (Inside joke that only Family Guy watchers will get).

A boy and his dog. Man's best friend, and so on and so forth. Doesn't Fozzie look a gazillion times cuter without all that fur?

Purses and purses and purses at Paldalmum Market

Proof that hangover food is hangover food no matter where in the world you are.

View from my neighbourhood cafe. I love it when they play Simon and Garfunkel. And when they don't oversteam the milk.

Shoes and shoes and shoes in Paldalmum Market

This is my favourite Korean television show. It's kind of a game show, I guess. But it's more like "Average Joe" meets "Who's Line is it Anyway?". Think impromptu bouts of dancing to show off your moves:

And then the girls who like you try to be your partner- they usually win the guy over by doing some provacative dance or singing some love ballad:

And then he chooses a girl. And while she cheers him on, he does some crazy obstacle/kickboxing course. Or he wrestles one of the other guys:

And then they both do it together, or some variation on a "couples" obstacle course. It goes on like that for awhile and finally there's a big ending where the girls decide what man they really want to be with by asking them to act out scenarios. This is all in Korean, but it made me realize that things like: pretending to fall down and doing a crazy dance are funny no matter what language they're in.

Typical weeknight: this show, spicy noodles, and toast to dip in the soup.
